3/4 cup crisco1 cup brown sugar1/4 cup molasses1 egg2 1/4 cups flour2 tsp soda½ tsp salt1 tsp ginger1 tsp cinnamon½ tsp ground clovesCream shortening, brown sugar, molasses, and egg until fluffy. Add flour, soda, salt, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves. Stir. Form in small balls. Roll in sugar. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 minutes.
